Church at Home!

COVID-19: Updated Monday, March 16 at 1:40 PM.

Hey KCC!

This Sunday (March 22nd), we’re taking church to our living rooms! As of today, we have been notified that the B.C Government has changed it’s large event ban from canceling gatherings of 250+ people, to canceling those of up to 50+. So instead of gathering at our church building on Sunday, we get the opportunity to bring church home! A streaming of our service will be released onto all platforms as you gather with some friends and family at home this Sunday.

Stay connected with your groups and invite some friends and family over for a “Church at Home” watch party!

What does church at home look like?

GATHER – Host a “Church at Home” watch party and invite family, friends and your connect group to join our online stream on Sunday morning.

FELLOWSHIP – Have some food and coffee prepared to welcome guests and tune in to the next part of our “Joy Under Pressure” series!

PRAY – The Joy of the Lord is our strength and we choose faith over fear. Pray for peace, joy and wisdom to be present in the decision making of our Government, and for those who’s lives have been affected by COVID-19.

Stay connected and follow us on Social Media for updates on future services, events and opportunities to be together.

Kelowna Christian Center's Response to COVID-19 and B.C. Government's Large Event Ban

Thursday, March 12 at 10:00 PM

Hello KCC Fam!

We want to let you know that we are aware and staying up to date on the developing news surrounding cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in B.C.. We are monitoring situations and following any official recommendations of our B.C. government. This is a top priority for us as we intend to exhibit a level and duty of care for our church family.

Today, the B.C. provincial government put a ban in place for gatherings of over 250 people. This news stirred me to communicate with all of you, our church family, on how we can stand strong together as God’s church in this season and allow us opportunity to provide a response.

For this Sunday, KCC services (9:15am/11am), will continue as planned. We will be monitoring events and the numbers of attendees closely. If numbers happen to approach a maximum limit, we will be asking people to return for another service or view online. We will be responding by taking it one Sunday at a time!

Our greeters will not be shaking hands with you as you arrive, and we’ll be refraining from personal contact in our services. We encourage waving, smiles or elbow bumps.

In addition to our regular scheduled cleaning for our facilities, we are proactive with additional cleaning and sanitizing of areas with high levels of contact.

We are taking extra steps in our kid’s classes by disinfecting and sanitizing spaces before and after each service.

If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, feeling sick or have visited a high-risk area recently, we are requesting you to view services online. Services will be streaming and available on Sunday at 9:15am through the KCC website (kcc.net), the KCC app, YouTube or Facebook.

Any changes will be communicated through our website (kcc.net) and social media (Instagram: @kcc.church                           Facebook: facebook.com/kelownachristiancenter). For members of KCC, updates will continue through email.

During this season, we are inviting you to continue to engage within your church and your community!

Here are 3 things that you can do:

  1. Pray with us that God will work even through this difficult season to move in people’s lives; He can work all things together for our good! Join as we pray for our cities, communities, and all those affected by the Coronavirus. We believe that in times like this, our church can grow and continue to impact the lives of others.
  2. In addition to joining us online as individuals, you may consider reaching out to your CONNECT Group. We want to continue to strengthen community during this time, so please partner with us at a time when we need each other more than ever.
  3. Lastly, lean into opportunities with determination to stay connected and stand strong as a church family. Stay in the know about Kelowna Christian Center by updating your information in our database here and following us on social media.

Joy UP!
