What About The Money?
We want to thank you all again for your generosity to give over and beyond what was expected at this years KCC Missions Conference. As a result we are able to start financing the projects that we presented in our missions conference and are seeking the Lord for direction of where He’s wanting us to sow in the future. Here are some of the places your money has been released to as the money has started to come in (September 2008).
$5000 to Puerto expansion.
We have released the first $5000 to John and Angela Nickel for the Puerto church expansion. This expansion will become a convention center and allow for more church growth and regional impact. As long as the funds are coming in, we will be able to release to them a total of $30,000 for this project over the next 6 months.
We were also able to bless John and Angela by bringing them home to Canada in July.
$4800 to Kitale, Kenya.
We have also been releasing $1200/month to Kitale Kenya, which provides shelter, education, food, and medical for the 30 children we support at Mali Saba Orphanage. We will be increasing this to $1550/month, so that we can also provide education for 20 children at another children’s home called Daulton Baptist Street Church.
Another way we have been able to bless the children in Kitale, has been by releasing $6000 for a building that we erected to be used as a school for refugee children (K-3). It is also being used on the weekends as a church.
Larry Carruthers is continuing to involve our local community by getting them on board of this Kitale project. He recently raised $2500 in the community, which was then matched by Be A Hero, which doubled our ability to do more. This money is being used to secure land for Mali Saba.
$4000 to Bergens.
The Bergens who were missionaries in Kitale Kenya, have now flown back to Calgary, where they will be taking time to heal and recover from the tragedy they experienced. We released $4000 to them to help them with all their costs.
$5000 to Vietnam pastors.
Anther area that our church is having a huge influence on is Vietnam, where Pastor Dave has been spending a lot of time pouring into them. We have been able to release $5000 to support the pastors there.
As the missions board, we are continually looking to God for his direction and timing on the release of money coming in. Our prayer for you is that God gives you favor, blessing and increase to enable you to fulfill the pledged amount that was in your heart to give.
$4000 to Moral Clarity.
Right now the nation is highly challenged with its moral direction, and we felt the urgency to release the $4000 we committed to Moral Clarity, as a result of the moral issues that are facing this nation today.
$500 to David Gerk.
David Gerk felt God urging him to go and be a blessing and serve John and Angela Nickel in Puerto Escondido. We were able to release to him $500 to help him get on his way.
$200 to Victory Life.
Every year Victory Life reaches out to a few thousand people from our local community. We gave them $200 to help them with their upcoming outreach at the end of August.
