Pastoral Care

On our journey in life there are times where we need the help of experienced people and leaders in our community. Pastoral care is about helping you along the way in that journey. Whether you are becoming a new believer or a newly married, or perhaps you have a loved one that has passed away, we can help. We have a great team and here are some of the ways we are here to serve you. If you want to participate in any of these things or are in need of help please call the office and we will help you.

New Believers

If you are new to the family of God and you have given your life to Jesus the changes in you can be incredibly exciting and powerfully overwhelming; it is new, it is different. What do I do? What do I need to know?

We want to invite you to participate in a New Believer class that will help you in your learning process. We will cover things like the Bible, Prayer, God, the church and numerous other things. This setting will provide opportunity to ask questions and sort out what it all means to be a Christian.

Hospital Visits

If you know you are going to be in the hospital and would like someone to visit you, please let the office know and we will gladly have one of our team come visit and pray with you. If you find yourself or someone close to you in an emergency situation at the hospital please have someone phone the office and we will have someone from our ministry team visit you and have our prayer teams engaged in prayer for you.

Baptism

At Kelowna Christian Center we celebrate the public ceremony of Water Baptism. If you are a new believer we encourage you to go through a class on Water Baptism and we will celebrate that day with you and your family. Watch for classes on the web or in our bulletin and newsletters.

Weddings

Are you getting married? There are several Pastors on the team that will officiate on your wedding day. Prior to the wedding day we do require you to go through a pre-marriage class that will give you tools to succeed in your new family. This generally will be 6-8 sessions covering God in your family, Communication, Money Matters, Husband and Wife Family Roles, Sexuality and Developing Vision for your home.

Our facility is available for weddings however priority is given to the regular rhythm of church life and members of KCC.

Funerals

Losing a loved one generally is not an event planned on our day timer. In that moment we can be overwhelmed with loss, uncertainty and grief. We are here to help you through that season of your life. Please involve one of the team as soon as possible to come along side of you and your family.

We do provide grief counselling and recovery as well as help you coordinate the funeral arrangements for the church.

Grief Recovery

People hurting from the pain of grief need help and healing. The finality of death is hard to accept. We have understanding small groups as well as personal ministry to help you through this difficult time.

Financial Crisis & Management

In this economy we have seen many people struggle with their economics and finances in the home and business. We do believe that God wants you to prosper and give you help. Help will not necessarily come in the form of money right away but rather tools and accountability to steward money. During the year we offer courses on Business and Money Management. We will also introduce you to people who have put these principals into practice. Watch our website and brochures for upcoming events or phone us and we will steer you into the right direction.

Encounter

Encounter Weekend is offered in the fall and incorporates corporate worship, interactive sessions, group and individual prayer ministry where you can unload your burdens and receive God’s truth and blessings on a deep personal level. The team from Kelowna Christian Center is prepared to release the freedom only God can give. Will you set a weekend aside to focus on God and receive the blessings he has for you? Come and "Encounter" God face to face.
