Compassionate - Kelowna Christian Center, KCC

Compassionate - Kelowna Christian Center“What is required of you, O man, but to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before your God” Micah 6.8.

Our vision is to mobilize Kelowna’s City Church in order to build caring neighborhoods by placing Houses of Mercy (HOM) on every street, to pray for the welfare of our city, and together help people, poor or not, use whatever church and city resources are available.  KCC’s practical expression of this is the HOM Mercy Center Outreach program, the hosting of the Rutland Community Food Center, and working with other churches and organizations in the city to serve each other, Kelowna and our neighbours through acts of love, and compassion.

“Treasures”

Treasures was created in 2005 to help students who wanted to go to their Prom, but would otherwise miss out due to their financial situations. Many of the students helped in the last three years have been young Moms who, because of their financial responsibilities, would not have gone to the Prom. The students are referred to Treasures through the schools by Counsellors, Teachers or by Social Workers.

We have Companies that help us with ensuring that the students' dreams come true. Also the public has donated gowns, shoes, accessories and finances to meet each students need. Without every donation, Treasures would not be able to help every student referred.

For more information, and list of Companies who helped us visit the web site www.kelownatreasures.com
